ARC Weekly Report 13.3.19

  • The attack on the dive support vessel on 9th March which resulted in 1 Navy rating dead, 7 pirates dead, and 5 persons kidnapped, despite the presence of an armed escort vessel. CSOs and those responsible for security on board merchant vessels should take note of the failings that lead to this outcome.
  • Events surrounding the governorship elections.
  • Lomé, Togo is now the busiest port in the Gulf of Guinea, overtaking Lagos in container volume.
